Welcome Dear Classmates of 1977!

This site connects us to our alma mater and to our mission towards destination, 50th Reunion and “Golden Girl” status. I pray you have been touched by the joy and renewed spirit of our 45th Reunion. Over the next 5 years, please consider these goals for our class:

  • Stay connected and help our Class Reunion Planning Committee find and return sisters who are out of contact with our class and Spelman. We are Stronger Together!

  • “Every Woman Every Year!” – Actively commit now to being a donor yourself and encouraging our classmates to give to Spelman at least yearly.

  • Setting a conscientious goal for yearly dollar amount giving for the next 5 years. –  Determine the total amount you are comfortable with and divide it by the 12 months in the fiscal year of July 1 – June 30th. Set up automatic withdrawals or payments from your bank account/credit card account to make your efforts painless. Can you make a gift of $1000 or $1200/year?

  • Familiarize yourself with age-appropriate options for planned giving, e.g., setting aside a portion of your life insurance or your 401K plan and/or consider donating a portion or all of your 401K Required Mandatory Distribution (RMD) to Spelman. The Spel-Agents will schedule forums to increase your understanding of these options and the process.

Adopting the above recommendations early and intentionally will place our class where we need and want to be. We will have less stress and be proud of our successes as “Golden Girls.”  Let’s do this!

Finally, please explore the updated tabs of this website and click here to view our creatively compiled class picture. You can download and print it.

Sisterly prayers and blessings to reach 2027 and beyond,

Mary
